Millerite Time 1830's, 1840-1844 Repeating Now: 11 Lines + 11 Points of Parallel Prophecy

"There is a great work to be done for this time, and we do not half realize what the Lord is willing to do for his people. We talk about the first angel's message, and the second angel's message, and we think we have some understanding of the third angel's message; but we should not be satisfied with our present knowledge. Our petitions, mingled with faith and contrition, should go up to God, for an understanding of the mysteries that God would make known to his saints. We should have a realization that unless taught by the Holy Spirit, we shall not rightly comprehend the Bible; for it is a sealed book even to the learned, who are wise in their own conceit. Jesus meant just what he said when he directed his disciples to "search the Scriptures." Searching means to compare scripture with scripture, and spiritual things with spiritual. We should not be satisfied with a superficial knowledge. We should search for the hidden treasure concealed beneath the surface, as the merchant-man seeks for goodly pearls. Premise: At least Twenty-Two lines of Bible truth parallel each other, mostly parallels but some contrasts too (and this is likely not all of them), AND they are in the process of repeating right now, indicating that we are indeed in the beginning of the final purification process right now!

"Revelation is a sealed book, but it is also an opened book. It records marvelous events that are to take place in the last days of this earth's history. The teachings of this book are definite, not mystical and unintelligible. In it the same line of prophecy is taken up as in Daniel. Some prophecies God has repeated, thus showing that importance must be given to them. The Lord does not repeat things that are of no great consequence.--Ms 107, 1897. Manuscript Releases, vol. 8, p. 413

In the beginning of the book of Revelation Jesus shows Himself as the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last. He is the Beginning and the Ending, and God says the same thing of Himself to prove His Deity in Isa. 46:9-10, "Remember the former things of old: for I [am] God, and [there is] none else; [I am] God, and [there is] none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times [the things] that are not [yet] done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure."

For Christ to portray the ending of Adventism with the beginning of Adventism is perfectly consistent with Who and What He is.

Introduction: Christ, the Unsealer, Cries Out: Rev. 10:1-6

Christ is the One who unseals, or brings about the "increase of knowledge" in Dan. 11 & 12 and in Rev. 10. Christ was the mighty angel who descended in Rev. 10, having the little book of Daniel open in His hand. The book was opened, or unsealed, and knowledge was increased as the book of Daniel stood "in his lot" (Dan. 12:13), and fulfilled its purpose.

Christ symbolically descended in Rev. 10 by revealing the truth of His word to His people, and He "cried out as when a lion roareth," and made Daniel to "stand in his lot" by revealing "new light" that being the fulfillment of Dan. 8:14 (the prophecy about the second coming of Jesus, at the end of the time prophecy of the 2300 days), was very near, thereby empowering the Millerite movement.

His feet on the land and sea represented that, in 1840, He had providentially opened the way for the Millerite message to be carried to every mission station in the world. As a result (in "cause-and-effect" relationship), the First Angel's Message of Rev. 14:7, "the hour of God's judgment has come," went forth with increasing power, particularly in 1840, and was worldwide in scope. SDA historians and Inspiration both confirm that this actually took place in 1840! Being worldwide in scope, then and now, is a parallel point about the First message.

Christ cried with a loud voice, and the Seven Thunders sounded in a "cause and effect" relationship.

"And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow [was] upon his head, and his face [was] as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire: And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and [his] left [foot] on the earth, And cried with a loud voice, as [when] a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices. And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not. And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven, And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:" Rev. 10:1-6

Christ cries out "as a lion" and the Seven Thunders happen as a response to His loud cry.

Christ cries out by unsealing His Word, and His unsealed Word is as the voice of a "lion."

Rev. 5:5 shows Christ as the "Lion of the tribe of Judah" who removes the Seven Seals from the book.

We recognize that the "book" is the history of God's dealings with man, or the Bible.

The Bible is "sealed up" by human customs and traditions.

"When Christ came to this earth, the traditions that had been handed down from generation to generation, and the human interpretation of the Scriptures, hid from men the truth as it is in Jesus. The truth was buried beneath a mass of tradition. The spiritual import of the sacred volumes was lost; for in their unbelief men locked the door of the heavenly treasure. Darkness covered the earth, and gross darkness the people. Truth looked down from heaven to earth; but nowhere was revealed the divine impress. A gloom like the pall of death overspread the earth. But the Lion of the tribe of Judah prevailed. He opened the seal that closed the book of divine instruction. The world was permitted to gaze upon pure, unadulterated truth. Truth itself descended to roll back the darkness and counteract error. A Teacher was sent from heaven with the light that was to light every man that comes into the world. There were men and women who were eagerly seeking for knowledge, the sure word of prophecy, and when it came, it was as a light shining in a dark place." Spaulding & Magan Collection, p.58

When Christ cried out in Rev. 10:1-6, He unsealed a part of the Bible (Dan. 8:14), which caused the Seven Thunders, which were the events of the Millerite movement from August 11, 1840 to October 22, 1844. However, the Millerites could not understand their own events at the time because they were sealed up.

When Christ cried out, "Seven Thunders uttered their voices," which were commanded to be "sealed up." But now, just before the close of human probation (which is announced in Rev. 22:11), the unsealing command has been given, "seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand" (Rev. 22:10), and now the EVENTS of the Seven Thunders are unsealed and understood, and are seen to be in the process of repeating now, because "the time is at hand" just before the "close of probation" proclamation of Rev. 22:11!

"After these seven thunders uttered their voices, the injunction comes to John as to Daniel in regard to the little book: "Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered." These relate to future events which will be disclosed in their order. Daniel shall stand in his lot at the end of the days. John sees the little book unsealed. Then Daniel's prophecies have their proper place in the first, second, and third angels' messages to be given to the world. The unsealing of the little book was the message in relation to time. This time, which the angel declares with a solemn oath, is not the end of this world's history, neither of probationary time, but of prophetic time, which should precede the advent of our Lord. That is, the people will not have another message upon definite time. After this period of time, reaching from 1842 to 1844, there can be no definite tracing of the prophetic time. The longest reckoning reaches to the autumn of 1844. The special light given to John which was expressed in the seven thunders was a delineation of events which would transpire under the first and second angels' messages." 7BC 971 (emphasis supplied)

Revelation chapters 8 through 10, 13-14, and 16 through 18, and Dan. 11:40-45 are what we should be focusing on now at the end of time, and if we can find patterns of events in history, or "events...in their order" as EGW said, then we can have a template for the really big and important EVENTS in the immediate future; the final, rapid movements on planet earth, as probation is closing!

After Rev. 10:6 is verse 7, the sounding of the Seventh Angel, the 7^th Trumpet.

"But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets."

Colossians 1:26-27 [Even] the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what [is] the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

The 7^th Trumpet signals the beginning of the of the 144,000, the finishing of the mystery of God!

Rev. 10:8-10 replays the events of 1840-1844, emphasizing the role of the little book of Daniel at that time.

"And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go [and] take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth. And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take [it], and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey. And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter."

John himself here symbolizes the Millerites and the role of the book of Daniel in their history.

...Empowered the Millerite movement.

*How was the book of Daniel, and the Millerites, empowered?

...By a fulfillment of prophecy.

...The Sixth Trumpet, or Second Woe of Rev. 9:13-21.

*When was this prophecy fulfilled, and the empowerment of the message, and of the Millerites, take place?

Therefore a message from the Trumpets in Revelation 9 was employed by Christ to empower the book of Daniel, and His people the Millerites, from 1840-1844. But, what does Rev. 10:11 say about all this history?

"And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings."

IT ALL GETS REPEATED!

At the end of the world Christ will descend again, and unseal a message in the book of Daniel again, and empower His people again!

*What empowered His people in the Millerite time?

*The collapse of a great empire predicted in Rev. 9:15.

*How will Christ bring about a repeat of all this history?

*By once again unsealing the book of Daniel, specifically Dan. 11:40-45, which begins with the collapse of a great empire!

The Seven Thunders parallel the events of the Ten Virgins parable, which "has been, and will be fulfilled to the very letter." RH August 19, 1890

Future Events: "After these seven thunders uttered their voices, the injunction comes to John as to Daniel in regard to the little book: 'Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered.' These relate to future events which will be disclosed in their order." 7BC 971

When the parable of the Ten Virgins is "fulfilled again to the very letter," then, the events of the Seven Thunders "will take place [again] in their order." Their specific order had been pointed out by prophecy (Mt.25), and then confirmed by the Millerite history of 1840 through 1844, when the First & Second Angels' Messages were fulfilled.

Unsealed time prophecies in Daniel

"Daniel shall stand in his lot at the end of the days. John sees the little book unsealed. Then Daniel's prophecies have their proper place in the first, second, and third angels' messages to be given to the world. The unsealing of the little book was the message in relation to time." 7BC 971

Daniel's prophecies have their "proper place" in the history of 1840-1844 at the beginning of that history when Daniel began to "stand in his lot" and the Millerites understood the time prophecies, and began to proclaim them. Thus began the purifying process that led to Oct. 22,1844.

When Daniel symbolically stands in his lot, the book is used by Christ to fulfill a specific purpose:

"When God gives a man a special work to do, he is to stand in his lot and place as did Daniel, ready to answer the call of God, ready to fulfill His purpose." 6MR 108

When the events of the 7 Thunders are once again "fulfilled to the very letter," then the book of Daniel will once again fulfill its purpose. The Millerite time began in 1840 with the book of Daniel fulfilling its purpose in the First Angel's Message.

"Daniel stood in his lot to bear his testimony which was sealed until the time of the end, when the first angel's message should be proclaimed to our world." TM 115

Line #2b) Dan. 11:40-45, "Daniel stands in his lot at the end of the days."

The sequence of events of 1840-1844 began with the book of Daniel (8:14) fulfilling its purpose. Therefore: when those events begin to repeat, in sequence, the book of Daniel (specifically Dan. 11:40-45; 12:3-4, 9-10, 13) will once again fulfill its purpose - at the beginning of a sequence of events.

When Daniel begins to "stand in his lot" again; Then the 7 Thunders, the events of 1840-1844, the First & Second Angels' Messages, and the parable of the Ten Virgins, will all begin to repeat!

The Millerites also received an increase of knowledge of the book of Revelation. This "increase of knowledge" is a part of Daniel 12, as is the "purification process" and "Daniel standing in his lot."

"The book that was sealed was not the book of Revelation, but that portion of the prophecy of Daniel which related to the last days. The Scripture says, "But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased" (Dan. 12:4). When the book was opened, the proclamation was made, "Time shall be no longer." (Revelation 10:6.) The book of Daniel is now unsealed, and the revelation made by Christ to John is to come to all the inhabitants of the earth. By the increase of knowledge a people is to be prepared to stand in the latter days." 2SM 105

"In the first angel's message men are called upon to worship God, our Creator, who made the world and all things that are therein. They have paid homage to an institution of the Papacy, making of no effect the law of Jehovah, but there is to be an increase of knowledge on this subject." 2SM 106

The "increase of knowledge" in the "latter days" has to do with the papacy and the Sunday Law. This very "increase of knowledge" is what prepares God's people to stand in the latter days.

* Dan. 12 shows the experience of the wise, which was fulfilled in the Millerite time, and is repeated at the end of the world.

* Dan. 12 also parallels the parable of the ten virgins, which was fulfilled in the Millerite time, and is repeated "to the very letter" at the end of the world.

* Dan. 12 also parallels the history of the first and second angels' messages (as symbolized by the Seven Thunders) and is repeated at the end of the world.

Line #3) Rev. 14:6-7, the First and Second Angel's Messages. They were in three steps.

1^st Step = 1^st Angel (1830's) A call to Reform, & warning to arouse & make ready.

"To prepare a people to stand in the day of God, a great work of reform was to be accomplished. God saw that many of His professed people were not building for eternity, and in His mercy He was about to send a message of warning to arouse them from their stupor and lead them to make ready for the coming of the Lord." GC 311

"I was shown the interest which all heaven had taken in the work going on upon the earth. Jesus commissioned a mighty angel to descend and warn the inhabitants of the earth to prepare for His second appearing. As the angel left the presence of Jesus in heaven, an exceedingly bright and glorious light went before him. I was told that his mission was to lighten the earth with his glory and warn man of the coming wrath of God. Multitudes received the light..." EW 245

"The advent movement of 1840-44 was a glorious manifestation of the power of God; the first angel's message was carried to every missionary station in the world." GC 611

Line #4) Rev. 9:15, Fall of a Great Empire, Aug. 11, 1840.........Fall of a Great Empire, USSR, 1989

The First Angel's Message received a big boost, a great empowerment, or the "First Thunder" at the fall of a power that ascended out of the "bottomless pit," the Islamic Ottoman Empire on August 11, 1840, in fulfillment of the 391 year, 15 day prophecy of Rev. 9:15, which proved to the world that William Miller's "year-day principle" in interpreting Bible prophecy was correct.

"At the very time specified, Turkey, through her ambassadors, accepted the protection of the allied powers of Europe, and thus placed herself under the control of Christian nations. The event exactly fulfilled the prediction. When it became known, multitudes were convinced of the correctness of the principles of prophetic interpretation adopted by Miller and his associates, and a wonderful impetus was given to the advent movement. Men of learning and position united with Miller, both in preaching and in publishing his views, and from 1840 to 1844 the work rapidly extended." GC 335

Then, over a hundred years later, in the 1950's, the 4^th Angel of Rev. 18 (Christ again) came down again with the book of Daniel "open" in His hand, making Daniel "stand in his lot" again, by revealing "new light" again, being that the fulfillment of Dan. 11:40-45 was very near, to Louis Were, an SDA pastor in Australia, (and others, most notably a plasterer in America named Jeff Pippenger). As a result (in cause-and-effect fashion again), according to Dan. 11:40-45 (Daniel "standing in his lot" again) .... there should have been given power to His people, or a big boost, at the fall of the Soviet Empire in 1989. ...an "EVENT prophecy" ....the fall of a Great Empire...the USSR, parallels the fall of the Ottoman Empire, which would have proven to the world that our SDA "historicist principle" in interpreting Bible prophecy is correct (and not the futuristic "Left Behind" garbage that's so rampant now). And, it would have given the SDA Church great power, and been worldwide in scope, again (a key parallel point, and also a contrasting point, about the First message). But (now the contrasting point), since we are the Laodicean Church nowadays, and not Millerite Philadelphians, we slept right through it, continue to sleep on, and still haven't "gotten it" even yet! ...So, no "big boost," no "empowerment" to our message.

Even so, in order to be consistent, the fall of the USSR in 1989 still parallels the fall of the Ottomans, AND signals the arrival of the 4th Angel of Rev. 18, and ALSO brings the first "sprinklings" of the Latter Rain!

Line #5a) Rev. 14:8, 2^nd Step = 2^nd Angel, .......................................First Call out of Babylon.

2^nd Step = Second Angels' Message = 2^nd Thunder:

The Second Angels' Message was not worldwide like that of the First Angel, but applied primarily to the United States, where the fallen churches (and former Millerites) had closed their doors on Miller's preaching, became "foolish virgins," and thereby closed their own probation, and were lost at that time.

The Second Angel's message applied mainly to the United States, which is a key parallel about the Second message when it gets repeated in the repetition of the Seven Thunders.

"The second angel's message of Revelation 14 was first preached in the summer of 1844, and it then had a more direct application to the churches of the United States, where the warning of the judgment had been most widely proclaimed and most generally rejected, and where the declension in the churches had been most rapid." GC 389

In spite of the amazingly accurate prediction of the collapse of the Ottoman Empire on August 11, 1840, most of the churches in the USA began closing their doors to Miller in 1842, which marked the end of the First message and the beginning of the Second Angel's "Second Thunder" message, "Babylon is fallen" (even though the Millerites didn't realize they were fulfilling this prophecy at the time and didn't begin proclaiming it until the summer of 1844).

"In June, 1842, Mr. Miller gave his second course of lectures in Portland [Maine]... With few exceptions the different denominations closed the doors of their churches against Mr. Miller." 1T 21

"As the churches refused to receive the first angel's message, they rejected the light from heaven and fell from the favor of God. They trusted to their own strength, and by opposing the first message placed themselves where they could not see the light of the second angel's message. But the beloved of God, who were oppressed, accepted the message, "Babylon is fallen," and left the churches." EW 237

"Another mighty angel was commissioned to descend to earth. Jesus placed in his hand a writing, and as he came to the earth, he cried, 'Babylon is fallen, is fallen.'... As the people of God united in the cry of the second angel, the heavenly host marked with the deepest interest the effect of the message" EW 246

Near the end of the time of the Second Angel's message the Millerites experienced the "first" disappointment, the "Third Thunder" on March 21 of 1844, when they had initially expected Jesus to appear. This caused them to experience a slump in zeal and activity, the "Fourth Thunder," known as the "Tarrying Time" of the parable of the 10 virgins in Mt. 25.

During the "Tarrying Time" in the summer of 1844 the "Fifth Thunder" sounded, and the Millerites realized the meaning of the closing of the doors of the various churches in 1842, and they began to actually proclaim the Second Angel's Message, "Babylon is fallen!"

Soon afterward, during some campmeetings in New Hampshire in July and August of 1844, they got another big boost, another empowerment at the "Sixth Thunder," when they received more "new light" on the book of Daniel, this time on the starting date of the 2300 days prophecy; that the decree of 457BC actually was carried into effect in the Fall of the year, which the Millerites understood as being on the Jew's Day of Atonement. Understanding this "new light" empowered them to go out and proclaim the Midnight Cry, also known as the "Seventh-Month Movement" because the Day of Atonement came on the 15^th day of the 7^th month of the Hebrew calendar.

The Second Angel's message concluded at the "Seventh Thunder" on October 22, 1844, as probation closed, or the "door shut" (Rev. 3:7) on the foolish, lost "virgins" of Mt. 25 (all those churches who refused Miller's message, primarily in the USA). Those fallen churches then became part of Papal Rome's "Babylon," or "Apostate Protestantism" (GC616). Also, at that time, a "door opened" to reveal still further "new light" to the "disappointed" ones who had held fast to their previous religious experience instead of giving up in discouragement.

The "open door" was for the approved, saved Church of "Philadelphia" of Rev. 3 (all the individuals who either left or were cast out of the fallen churches) who also endured the test of October 22, 1844, and who went with Jesus, by faith, into the Most Holy Place of the Heavenly Sanctuary (where He began His High Priestly "Day of Atonement" ministry), and they were then given more "new light," that being the Third Angel's Message about the difference between the Sabbath and Sunday.

So, the Angel of Rev. 10 (symbolized by the First and Second Angels of Rev. 14), gave some "new light" on a part of the book of Daniel that gave within the 7 Thunders "perfectly thunderous power" as it were, to those of God's people who were looking for new light, and accepted and held on to that new light!

Line #5b) Rev. 18: the Fourth Angel's Loud Cry. ................................Final Call out of Babylon

Rev. 18 is another parallel passage to the sacred history we are considering. It reveals the history at the end of the world that has been prefigured by the Millerite time period!

"The angel who unites in the proclamation of the third angel's message is to lighten the whole earth with his glory. A work of world-wide extent and unwonted power is here foretold. The advent movement of 1840-44 was a glorious manifestation of the power of God; the first angel's message was carried to every missionary station in the world, and in some countries there was the greatest religious interest which has been witnessed in any land since the Reformation of the sixteenth century; but these are to be exceeded by the mighty movement under the last warning of the third angel. GC 611

"And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues." Rev. 18:1-4

Rev. 10: Angel comes down at the beginning of a sequence of events and gives a message for the world.

"God has given the messages of Revelation 14 their place in the line of prophecy, and their work is not to cease till the close of this earth's history. The first and second angel's messages are still truth for this time, and are to run parallel with that which follows. The third angel proclaims his warning with a loud voice. "After these things," said John, "I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power, and the earth was lightened with his glory." In this illumination, the light of all the three messages is combined." 1888 Materials, p. 804

The first, second and third angels' messages are combined by applying the historical fulfillment of 1840-1844 to the events that take place at the end of the world, when the fourth angel's message is proclaimed.

Behold the parallels that are repeating nowadays, under the proclamation of the Fourth Angel of Rev. 18!

The Third Angel's message, about the coming Sunday Law, has always been worldwide in scope (a parallel to the First Angel's Message), and at some point in time the FIRST prophetic EVENT to occur, or the repeat of the "First Thunder" (or the fall of another power that had ascended out of the "bottomless pit," the fall of Atheism, that EGW refers to in GC 269) was supposed to give the Third Angel's Message a big boost.

Therefore, in 1957, in preparation for this great EVENT, the Fourth Angel of Rev. 18 (Christ again) came down again, with the book of Daniel "open" in His hand again, and made Daniel to "stand in his lot" again, by "crying out as a lion" again, and revealing "new light" again, that being the fulfillment of the last part of Dan. 11:40 (the fall of a power that had ascended out of the "bottomless pit," the fall of Atheism, the "King of the South," in the Communist USSR), was the first Prophetic Event (since the time prophecies had all been fulfilled) to mark the beginning of the repetition of the Seven Thunders, and He revealed it to Louis Were, an Adventist pastor in Australia, who then wrote a book about it entitled "Preparing for the Close of Probation." (Unfortunately, because it was the time of Laodicea then (as it still is now), pastor Were's book was ignored and pretty much just fell flat.)

However, about 30 years later an unknown (a parallel point?) Adventist plasterer (not a pastor) in the United States who happened to be studying out the meanings contained in Daniel 11 & 12 for himself, found the book, and understood the importance of pastor Were's message, and saw that it applied to the fall of the Soviet Union in 1989, and ever since then the former plasterer, Jeff Pippenger, has been empowered to single-handedly proclaim the repetition of "events in their order" around the world for over a decade.

I repeat the main point of this study. In cause and effect relationship again, as a result of receiving "new light" again, gaining an understanding of the last part of Dan. 11:40 (Daniel "standing in his lot" again), God's Seventh-day Adventist Church worldwide, should have been ready in advance to receive a big boost, a great and even perfectly "Thunderous" empowerment again at the fall of the Atheistic Soviet Empire, the USSR, in 1989, the parallel EVENT to the "First Thunder," the fall of the Ottoman Empire!

But, we were not ready, and therefore missed the golden opportunity because we were, and still are, in Laodicea (a key parallel point, and also a sad contrasting point, about the First Angel's message).

But even so, in order to be consistent with repeating history, the fall of the USSR in 1989 still parallels the fall of Islam's Ottoman Empire (because both were powers "out of the bottomless pit"), which would have given the Adventist Church "Thunderous" power, and been worldwide in scope, and would have proven to the whole world that our SDA "historicist principle" in interpreting Bible prophecy was valid (and NOT the futuristic "Left Behind" garbage that's so rampant now). The fall of the USSR is the outward signal for the arrival of the 4th Angel of Rev. 18, and ALSO signals the beginnings of the first "sprinklings" of the Latter Rain, and the Loud Cry!

But how few Seventh-day Adventists are ready to receive the Latter Rain and give the Loud Cry! How few even realize that it is supposed to be happening now! But rather, as it is written by Ellen White, when some do see it, they will mistake what it is, and even brace themselves to resist it!

"'There is to be in the churches a wonderful manifestation of the power of God, but it will not move upon those who have not humbled themselves before the Lord, and opened the door of the heart by confession and repentance. In the manifestation of that power which lightens the earth with the glory of God, they will see only something which in their blindness they think dangerous, something which will arouse their fears, and they will brace themselves to resist it. Because the Lord does not work according to their ideas and expectations they will oppose the work. "Why," they say, "should we not know the Spirit of God, when we have been in the work so many years?"'

Review & Herald Extra, Dec. 23, 1890.

"The third angel's message will not be comprehended, the light which will lighten the earth with its glory will be called a false light, by those who refuse to walk in its advancing glory." Review & Herald, May 27, 1890 (Last Day Events, p. 210)

I repeat! We have "advanced" to the time of the Fourth Angel's message! ...Parallel to the Second Angel's message, which applies primarily to the USA (the Sunday Law is coming here first)! So, when the Sunday Law arrives, and the fallen churches (and former, or nominal, Adventists) shall close their doors, and ears (repeating the "Second Thunder") to the "Loud Cry" call for resistance to the Sunday Law (repeating the "Sixth Thunder"), then they will also join the "foolish virgins" (actually the "wicked" of Dan. 12:10), and close their own probation, and be lost for eternity!

It's a purifying, judgment message!...the final purification of God's Church....that separates the "wheat from the chaff," forever~!

Therefore, since Christ, the 4th Angel of Rev. 18 has come down already, and is trying to give us His Latter Rain power that we of course must have in order for us to be empowered to proclaim the final Loud Cry (in parallel with the Midnight Cry of the "Sixth Thunder"), He is giving increased knowledge of the book of Daniel again, by giving more and more "new light," now on Dan. 11:40-45!

The newest "new light" on the book of Daniel, making Daniel "stand in his lot" again is that the EVENTS of the Millerite time period (called the "Seven Thunders" of Rev. 10:3), are all repeated again at the end of the world in Dan. 11:40-45!

Musings on the 7 Thunders

Considering the 7 Thunders, the parallel between the fall of Islam in 1840 at the 1st Thunder, and the fall of Atheism in 1989 is clear (both are powers out of the "bottomless pit" that fell after a "long war"); and its easy to see the parallel between the Midnight Cry and the Loud Cry of the 4th Angel of Rev. 18, in the 6th Thunder; and its easy to see the parallel between the Close of Probation on Oct. 22, 1844 and the second coming of Jesus, in the 7th Thunder, but the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Thunders don't seem so easy to apply to our time.

The three tests for SDAs at the end of the world are EGW, the Image to the Beast, and the National Sunday Law, but exactly where to place them in the 7 Thunders is challenging. The EGW issue has always been a test for some SDAs, just like the 3rd Angel's message has always been a test for the world. But its hard to tell just where the Image to the Beast test fits in (that's the next one coming up; the union of Church & State). Is the Image Test at the 2nd Thunder? Then the 2nd (and 4th) Angels' messages, "Babylon is fallen, is fallen," and the National Sunday Law go at the 7th Thunder? Or does the National Sunday Law go at the 2nd Thunder as the beginning of the Close of Probation "purifying and cleansing process" and continue until the final End of the "process" at Jesus' appearing, at the 7th Thunder? That would put the "Image Test" in-between the 1st and 2nd Thunders as a relatively "silent" event.

IF the "Image Test" (union of Church & State) is a "stealth event" between the 1st and 2nd Thunders, and the National Sunday Law is at the "fall of Babylon" at the 2nd Thunder, it is then fairly easy to see the other Thunders following it "in their order". The National (and then Universal) Sunday Laws (at the 2nd Thunder) will be quite a shock to God's people as the Laws progress around the world, and a "disappointment" paralleling the 3rd Thunder would likely follow, and there could then follow a corresponding "slump in activity" or a "Tarrying Time" paralleling the 4th Thunder.

After recovering their wits (and receiving the spiritual power of the Latter Rain in response to their earnest prayers), God's people could begin to proclaim the fall of Babylon, as the Millerites did in the 5th Thunder, which would swell into the Loud Cry, the call to "Come out of her My people", parallel to the Midnight Cry, in the 6th Thunder, just before Jesus comes at the 7th Thunder.

The "Image Test":

"The Lord has shown me clearly that the image of the beast will be formed before probation closes; for it is to be the great test for the people of God, by which their eternal destiny will be decided. [Rev. 13:11-17 quoted.] "This is the test that the people of God must have before they are sealed. All who proved their loyalty to God by observing His law, and refusing to accept a spurious sabbath, [at the National Sunday Law] will rank under the banner of the Lord God Jehovah, and will receive the seal of the living God. Those who yield the truth of heavenly origin and accept the Sunday sabbath, will receive the mark of the beast." (Letter 11, 1890) {SDA Bible Commentary, vol. 7, p. 976, par. 3}

Line #6) John 2:15, First Cleansing of the Temple........Mark 11:15, Second Cleansing of the Temple

"When Jesus began His public ministry, He cleansed the Temple from its sacrilegious profanation. Among the last acts of His ministry was the second cleansing of the Temple. So in the last work for the warning of the world, two distinct calls are made to the churches. The second angel's message is, "Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication" (Rev. 14:8). And in the loud cry of the third angel's message a voice is heard from heaven saying, "Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities"

(Rev. 18:4, 5). 2SM 118

This cleansing, or purification process is symbolized as three progressive, advancing messages:

"I was shown three steps-the first, second, and third angels' messages." EW 259

Purification & Christ as the One who Purifies His People:

"Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts. But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he [is] like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap: And he shall sit [as] a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness. Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the LORD, as in the days of old, and as in former years." Mal. 3:1-4

The messenger that comes suddenly to the temple was Christ moving into the Most Holy Place in 1844:

"The coming of Christ as our high priest to the most holy place, for the cleansing of the sanctuary, brought to view in Daniel 8:14; the coming of the Son of man to the Ancient of Days, as presented in Daniel 7:13; and the coming of the Lord to His temple, foretold by Malachi, are descriptions of the same event; and this is also represented by the coming of the bridegroom to the marriage, described by Christ in the parable of the ten virgins, of Matthew 25." Purification & the First & Second Angel's Messages:

"All heaven watched with the deepest interest the reception of the first angel's message. But many who professed to love Jesus, and who shed tears as they read the story of the cross, derided the good news of His coming. Those who rejected the first message could not be benefited by the second; neither were they benefited by the midnight cry, which was to prepare them to enter with Jesus by faith into the most holy place of the heavenly sanctuary. And by rejecting the two former messages, they have so darkened their understanding that they can see no light in the third angel's message, which shows the way into the most holy place." Purification & Separation of the Wise and Foolish Virgins:

"The ten virgins are watching in the evening of this earth's history. All claim to be Christians. All have a call, a name, a lamp, and all profess to be doing God's service. All apparently wait for Christ's appearing. But five are unready. Five will be found surprised, dismayed, outside the banquet hall. At the final day, many will claim admission to Christ's kingdom, saying, "We have eaten and drunk in Thy presence, and Thou hast taught in our streets." "Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy name? and in Thy name have cast out devils? and in Thy name done many wonderful works?" But the answer is, "I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from Me." In this life they have not entered into fellowship with Christ; therefore they know not the language of heaven, they are strangers to its joy. "As early as 1842 the direction given in this prophecy to "write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it," had suggested to Charles Fitch the preparation of a prophetic chart to illustrate the visions of Daniel and the Revelation. The publication of this chart was regarded as a fulfillment of the command given by Habakkuk. No one, however, then noticed that an apparent delay in the accomplishment of the vision--a tarrying time--is presented in the same prophecy. After the disappointment, this scripture appeared very significant: 'The vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. . . . The just shall live by his faith.'" GC 392

"It is because Christ's words are disregarded, because the word of God is given a second place in education, that infidelity is riot and iniquity is rife. Things of minor consequence occupy the minds of many of the teachers of today. A mass of tradition, containing merely a semblance of truth, is brought into the courses of study given in the schools of the world. The force of much human teaching is found in assertion, not in truth. The teachers of the present day can use only the ability of previous teachers; and yet with all the weighty importance that may be attached to the words of the greatest human authors there is a conscious inability to trace back to the first great principle, the Source of unerring wisdom. The Delay

In the parable of the ten virgins there is a delay in the appearance of the Bridegroom. This was fulfilled in the Millerite time when the first disappointment of March 1844 occurred. This delay is a component of this sacred history.

"There is a delay in the coming of the Bridegroom in order that all may have an opportunity to hear the last message of mercy to a fallen world. The first and second angels' messages are all united and complete in the third: "And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead or in his hand, the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of His indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb."

"John was shown these things in holy vision. He saw the company represented by the five wise virgins, with their lamps trimmed and burning, and he exclaimed in rapture, "Here is the patience of the saints; here are they that keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them."

"Many who heard the first and second angels' messages thought they would live to see Christ coming in the clouds of heaven. Had all who claimed to believe the truth acted their part as wise virgins, the message would ere this have been proclaimed to every nation, kindred, tongue, and people. But five were wise and five were foolish. The truth should have been proclaimed by the ten virgins, but only five had made the provision essential to join that company who walked in the light that had come to them. The third angel's message was needed. This proclamation was to be made. Many who went forth to meet the Bridegroom under the messages of the first and second angels, refused the third angel's message, the last testing message to be given to the world.

"A similar work will be accomplished when that other angel, represented in Revelation 18, gives his message. The first, second, and third angels' messages will need to be repeated. The call will be given to the church, "Come out of her, My people, that ye be not partakers of her sins." "Babylon, the great, is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. . . . Come out of her, My people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues: for her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities" [Rev. 18:2-5].

"Take each verse of this chapter, and read it carefully, especially the last two: "And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived. And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth."

"The parable of the ten virgins was given by Christ Himself, and every specification should be carefully studied. A time will come when the door will be shut. We are represented either by the wise or the foolish virgins. We cannot now distinguish, nor have we authority to say, who are wise and who foolish. There are those who hold the truth in unrighteousness, and these appear outwardly like the wise." 16MR 269-270

This passage associates the mighty angel of Rev. 18 and the work He does, with the parable of the ten virgins, and also states that His work will be "similar" to the first and second angels' messages.

3^rd Step = Midnight Cry, "Behold, the Bridegroom cometh," began at the Exeter, New Hampshire camp meeting Aug. 12-17, 1844 and continued until Oct. 22, 1844; delivered by "other angels," joins and brings additional power.

"Near the close of the second angel's message, I saw a great light from heaven shining upon the people of God. The rays of this light seemed bright as the sun. And I heard the voices of angels crying, "Behold, the Bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet Him!" EW 238

"Jesus commissioned other angels to fly quickly to revive and strengthen the drooping faith of His people and prepare them to understand the message of the second angel and the important move which was soon to be made in heaven. I saw these angels receive great power and light from Jesus and fly quickly to earth to fulfill their commission to aid the second angel in his work. A great light shone upon the people of God as the angels cried, "Behold, the Bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet Him.'" EW 248

(During the first two Angels' messages the Holy Spirit was "manifested," but at the Midnight Cry the Holy Spirit was "poured out.")

"Like a tidal wave the movement swept over the land. [in the USA] From city to city, from village to village, and into remote country places it went, until the waiting people of God were fully aroused. Fanaticism disappeared before this proclamation like early frost before the rising sun. Believers saw their doubt and perplexity removed, and hope and courage animated their hearts. The work was free from those extremes which are ever manifested when there is human excitement without the controlling influence of the word and Spirit of God... It bore the characteristics that mark the work of God in every age. There was little ecstatic joy, but rather deep searching of heart, confession of sin, and forsaking of the world. A preparation to meet the Lord was the burden of agonizing spirits. There was persevering prayer and unreserved consecration to God." GC 400

Conclusion to Millerite Time Repeating Now, part 1

The parable of the ten virgins is a representation of the fulfillment of the first and second angels' messages in the Millerite time. It is also illustrated in Daniel twelve and symbolically represented by the seven thunders. This parable, and therefore all the other illustrations of this history and experience will be repeated at the end of time as described in Dan. 11:40-45. Our present message and our work are to understand this past history in order to understand our future history. This is our most important work.

"In a special sense Seventh-day Adventists have been set in the world as watchmen and light bearers. To them has been entrusted the last warning for a perishing world. On them is shining wonderful light from the word of God. They have been given a work of the most solemn import--the proclamation of the first, second, and third angels' messages. There is no other work of so great importance. They are to allow nothing else to absorb their attention." 9T 19

Part 2

11 Other Prophecies Repeating Now

1. Trumpets, Islam, Woes and the "Mirror Year" of Bible Prophecy

A literary technique often used by Bible writers, one that presents a series of ideas then repeats those ideas in reverse order, is referred to by Bible scholars as a "chiasm" or "chiastic structure." The classic example of chiasm is Phil. 2:5-11 where Jesus, "being in the form of God," was humbled to death on the cross, and then will be exalted as Lord of all, equal with God again. This kind of down-up, or counting-forward-then-back reflection of events is also evident from Dan. 11:40 onward (specifically from October 22, 1844 onward), thereby making 1844 the "mirror year" of Bible prophecy!

There are at least two series of these chiastic "reflections" of events in end-time prophetic history, both beginning on Oct. 22, 1844. The first is the Seven Trumpets, and the second is roughly the Millerite time period, beginning in 1755.

The First Final Chiasm; Reverse-order Trumpets:

The EVENTS occurring from Dan. 11:40 onward parallel the events of the first six Trumpets of Revelation 8 and 9, which repeat themselves, only in reverse-order (mirror-like), within the time-frame of the Seventh Trumpet! (And incidentally, the Adventist pioneers understood that the 7^th Trumpet extended to the end of the Millennium, and the final execution of God's judgment on evil.)

A prophetic example is when John on Patmos stood in vision in Rev. 13 at the year 1798. He looked back in time at the wounded head of the papal beast as it was in 1798, and notice that he saw its characteristics in reverse order from their appearance in the book of Daniel. Then he turned and looked forward in time at the second beast (that was just "coming up" in 1798) and its doings in the future.

The 6th Trumpet of Rev. 8:13 describes the events leading up to the fall of the great Islamic Ottoman Empire on Aug. 11, 1840, and also describes the parallel events of Dan. 11:40, specifically the events leading up to the fall of the great Atheistic empire of the USSR in 1989. The fall of these two great powers out of the "bottomless pit" is a parallel point and marks the beginning of the "reflection" of the Trumpets.

And also parallel with those falls the "spiritual fall" of the United States' "empire" in 1984, when the USA ceased to be an officially "Protestant" nation; when the USA stopped "protesting" Rome, and sent an ambassador to the Vatican, thereby officially, prophetically, making the USA "Apostate Protestantism" (GC 445, 615). Also at that time the United States became the "False Prophet" of Rev. 16:13 (a third of the final, three-part, global Modern Babylon).

After reaching "over the abyss to clasp hands with the Roman power" (GC588) in 1984, the United States became "the pope's army" so to speak, when we helped the pope bring down the USSR in 1989. The fact that the USA became "the pope's army" is prophetically significant because "the pope's army" is what God has commissioned Islam to attack!

"In these times of special interest, the guardians of the flock of God should teach the people that the spiritual powers are in controversy. It is not human beings that are creating such intensity of feeling as now exists in the religious world. A power from Satan's spiritual synagogue is infusing the religious elements of the world, arousing men to decided action to press the advantages Satan has gained, by leading the religious world in determined warfare against those who make the word of God their guide and the sole foundation of doctrine." General Conference Bulletin, March 4, 1895.

2. Islam's Three "Woes"

The EVENTS surrounding Islam's fall, and rising again:

The 6th Trumpet (the second "Woe") of Rev. 8 (and the 391-year, 15-days prophecy of Rev. 9:15), extended from July 27, 1449 to August 11, 1840, and began when the last Constantine, the last "Christian" emperor, voluntarily refused to accept his throne unless he had the permission of the Ottoman Empire. This event loosed the "4 angels," the four leading Turkish Sultans, who then invaded Constantinople, using explosives (a parallel point) for the first time against Christendom, then the Eastern Roman Empire was parceled out.

The 6th Trumpet is primarily about Turkish Islam's "woeful" attacks on the "armies of Rome" both pagan and papal. When compared with Rev. 17:8 we see that Turkish Islam was to slay the beast "that was" which was Eastern Pagan Rome. (Also, near the end of the 6th Trumpet, in 1798, Napoleon Bonaparte's Revolutionary France -- the first atheistic "King of the South" in Dan. 11:40 -- "pushed at" or gave the "deadly wound" to the head of the Beast that "yet is" or Papal Rome, as is described in the first part of Dan. 11:40.)

The 6th Trumpet ended, on Aug. 11, 1840, after a long, three-way war (a parallel point) between Egypt, Turkey and Europe, when the Turkish Sultan voluntarily (another parallel) gave the Ottoman Empire (Eastern Europe) back into the hands of Christian nations, the "four great powers" of Europe on Aug. 11, 1840 (and Islam fell back into its bottomless pit, as it were). Then after World War I the Ottoman Empire was divided up by Western Europe just like the Ottomans had parceled out Eastern Europe. These events illustrate another principle of Bible prophecy, that the beginning of something illustrates its ending.

In the Bible, God illustrates His creative power and Sovereign rulership over the earth and its events in part by His power to begin and end things, especially, to repeat the characteristics of the beginning of a thing, or its sequence of events, at its ending or final repetition (see Isa. 41:4, 46:10). Jesus pointed to this aspect of His part in the Godhead in Rev. 1 by referring to Himself as the "Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last."

As an example, a first-last event marked the beginning and end of the 1260 years of papal power in the city of Rome. At the beginning of papal power in 538 AD, a king (of the Ostrogoths) left the city of Rome, and at the end of papal power in 1798 AD, the "pope-king" himself left the city of Rome.

3. Parallels about the fall of the USA

At the end of another long, three-way war (the Cold War), between Russia's Communist Atheism, Catholicism and the USA, the USA voluntarily gave its "kingdom" away in 1984, after having secret "intelligence with them that forsake the Holy Covenant" ...a parallel with Dan. 11:30 (using the head of the Central "Intelligence" Agency no less!), when we sent an ambassador to Rome, prophetically meaning that we were no longer officially a "Protestant" nation, and had become the "False Prophet" of Rev. 16:13 (and the "Apostate Protestantism" EGW referred to in GC 445, 615).

(Whoever has "intelligence" with Rome always loses!)

Protestantism's Three Falls:

The pope "enters" the United States, or causes Protestantism to fall, three times. The first fall was in 1842, when the churches of the USA morally fell by closing their doors against William Miller's preaching. Therefore, they missed the Sabbath question completely, and were left hanging with papal Sunday worship. The USA fell again, both morally and politically, in 1984 when it gave up Protestantism, "reached over the abyss to clasp hands with the Roman power" (GC 588), and sent an ambassador to the Vatican. Finally, the pope will again "enter," or cause to fall for the third and final time, or actually in reality, conquer, the USA at the National Sunday Law. From there the papacy will go on to conquer spiritual "Egypt," meaning the entire world, at the Universal Sunday Law and Death Decree.

"The Roman Church is far-reaching in her plans and modes of operation. She is employing every device to extend her influence and increase her power in preparation for a fierce and determined conflict to regain control of the world, to re-establish persecution, and to undo all that Protestantism has done."

The Great Controversy, p. 566

The USA-"daily"-Islam Connection:

The USA also made itself Rome's new "army," giving papal Rome its "power" (Rev. 13:2), by helping the pope overthrow the USSR in 1989. This and future actions of the USA will parallel the actions of Clovis, the half-pagan king of France, who dedicated his armies to removing the "daily" (the opposition of other pagan nations to Rome) from 496 to 508AD. Therefore, Islam is attacking the USA now, during its third "Woe" (its "Third Jihad"), suddenly, unexpectedly, and violently, like unseen scorpions (with an emphasis on explosives, the worst so far being on 9-11-01), just as Islam attacked the pope's previous armies in Eastern Rome.

Incidentally, Islam is one of the three "manifestations of Satanic power" (GC 268) that ascended out of the "bottomless pit." They are Islam in Rev. 9:2, Atheism in France in Rev. 11:7 and Dan. 11:40, first part (and also the USSR in Dan. 11:40, last part), and Catholicism in Rev. 17:8.

4. Parallels about the fall of the USSR

Also at the end of the "long, three-way war" Mikhail Gorbachev had secret "intelligence with them that forsake the Holy Covenant" (Dan. 11:30). He then, in effect, also voluntarily gave away his kingdom (the USSR was the then-ruling atheistic "King of the South," Dan. 11:40, last part) just like Justinian, the last Constantine, and the Pasha of Turkey all voluntarily gave away their empires.

Therefore, after being voluntarily given away, the USSR collapsed, or imploded in 1989, just like the nations of Europe collapsed after being given to the papacy in 538 AD, and just like Eastern Rome collapsed after being given to the Turks in 1449 AD, and just like the Ottomans collapsed after being given to "the four great powers" of Europe on August 11, 1840, and just like the USA most assuredly will collapse (which event is probably in the not-too-distant future), since it has voluntarily given itself to defend Rome! It is the Bible principle that national apostasy leads to national ruin, nationally and globally!

Therefore again, the atheistic King of the South is "out of the game," so to speak, for domination of planet earth (and has been replaced by the Spiritualism of the United Nations), and today Catholicism is (quietly, stealthily, from behind the scenes) marching on to gain control of the rest of the world (with the United State's voluntary help), and therefore again, Radical Islam has come back out of its "bottomless pit" to perform its appointed role against the armies of Rome.

5. The 5^th Trumpet

The 5th Trumpet is parallel to the events of Dan. 11:41. Under the 5^th Trumpet (or first "Woe") Arabic Islam was a power "out of the bottomless pit." The locust-like hordes of Arabic Moslem armies, swarming out of the desert, were to "hurt" and "torment," scorpion-like, in sudden and devastating attacks, the beast "that was," Eastern Pagan Rome, and also the Beast that "yet is" (Rev. 17:8), papal Rome, by destroying their Roman armies.

Arabic Islam was released from the "bottomless pit" after a long war (a parallel point) between East and West, culminating with the battle of Nineveh, in about 620 AD, in which both pagan Rome and Persia militarily exhausted each other's strength. This "long war" and mutual exhaustion was the "key" (Rev. 9:1) that released Arabic Islam out of its bottomless pit so it could attack and "torment" the armies of Eastern Europe (and the papacy) until the Ottoman Turks took over, beginning the "five months" or 150 years of Rev. 9:5, from the battle of Nicomedia on July 27, 1299 and extending to July 23, 1449, when the last Constantine voluntarily gave his empire to the Turkish Sultan.

Parallel EVENTS of Dan. 11:41:

The 5^th Trumpet, about Arabic Islam's attacks on pagan and papal Rome's Eastern European armies, parallels the events of Dan. 11:41, which are Arabic Islam's attacks on papal Rome's new "army," the United States, or apostate Protestantism, or the "False Prophet" of Rev. 16:13.

Another long, three-way war, the Cold War between East and West (and the papacy, which in Dan. 11 is characterized as a long war between the papal King of the North and the atheistic King of the South), in which the East and West financially exhausted each other's strength with expensive "Star Wars" threats of atomic "mutually assured destruction," finally ending with the spiritual fall of the USA to the papacy in 1984, and the political fall of the USSR to the papacy in 1989, was the "key" that released Arabic Islam out of its bottomless pit again. Now Arabic Islam is again "tormenting" the new "army of Rome," the "6^th head" of Rev. 17:10, the "one is," or the United States.

The 5th trumpet ends with a king, the Eastern Roman Emperor, voluntarily surrendering his kingdom, and Dan. 11:41 ends with another king, this time the USA, voluntarily giving away the kingdom of Protestantism and Republicanism to the papacy at the National Sunday Law.

A good parallel to note: As Islam tormented Rome's army, the "sealed" ones (Sabbath-keeping Nestorian Christians) were protected, so also the "sealed" Sabbath-keeping 144,000 will also be protected (Rev. 3:10).

6. The "Tribes" of Dan. 11:41 Escape

In the 1840's former papists "escaped" Catholicism's hand when they believed William Miller, came out of their doomed churches, and eventually became Seventh-day Adventists. The parallel is that former papists (and others, symbolized by the extinct "tribes" noted in Dan. 11:41) will again escape Catholicism's hand when they believe the Loud Cry about the Sunday Law/Mark of the Beast and abandon their doomed churches, spiritualism, and even Islam, to join with the faithful Sabbath keepers.

New Converts Will Take the Places of Those Who Are Shaken Out:

"Some had been shaken out and left by the way. The careless and indifferent, who did not join with those who prized victory and salvation enough to perseveringly plead and agonize for it, did not obtain it, and they were left behind in darkness, and their places were immediately filled by others taking hold of the truth and coming into the ranks. Early Writings, p. 271 (1858). {Last Day Events, p.182.1}

"The broken ranks will be filled up by those represented by Christ as coming in at the eleventh hour. There are many with whom the Spirit of God is striving. The time of God's destructive judgments is the time of mercy for those who have [had] no opportunity to learn what is truth. Tenderly will the Lord look upon them. His heart of mercy is touched, His hand is still stretched out to save, while the door is closed to those who would not enter. Large numbers will be admitted who in these last days hear the truth for the first time. Letter 103, 1903. {LDE 182.2}

"Standard after standard was left to trail in the dust as company after company from the Lord's army joined the foe and tribe after tribe from the ranks of the enemy united with the commandment-keeping people of God. Testimonies, vol. 8, p. 41 (1904). {LDE 182.3}

7. The first four Trumpets

The first four Trumpets of Revelation chapter 8, concerning the fall of pagan Rome and the rise of papal Rome, parallel the events of Dan. 11:42 to 12:3, the fall of Apostate Protestantism, and also the fall of global spiritualism, the organization known as the United Nations, or the "ten kings which have received no kingdom as yet" (Rev. 17:12), and the final rise of Modern Rome to the throne of the world, or "Egypt."

Then the divine principle "national apostasy results in national ruin" will apply globally!

Again, we are now replaying the events of the Seven Trumpets, only in reverse order....apostate empires heading toward ruin, only now its the whole world heading toward its final, eternal ruin!

Notice how this particular Bible principle is clearly illustrated in the events of the first four Trumpets. Emperor Constantine decreed a National Sunday Law in 321AD, and just nine years later, in 330AD, he himself broke pagan Rome into two pieces, thereby beginning the process of "national ruin," and right after that the Barbarian tribes (the first four Trumpet powers) invaded to finish it off and parcel it out. This is also when papal Rome inherited its "seat" (Rev. 13:2), the city of Rome.

Later, in 533 AD, when the pagan Roman Emperor Justinian decreed the Bishop of Rome the head of all the churches (which was an even more apostate move than Constantine's), giving the pope his "great authority" (Rev. 13:2), he actually ruined himself politically by 538 AD, and signaled the beginning of the Moslem problem. The Moslems kept the pope busy until atheistic France finally took him down in 1798.

When the USA voluntarily gives away its national sovereignty by enacting the pope's Sunday Law (Protestantism's third fall), it will be during events that parallel Justinian's political and religious crisis. He needed to get rid of the Arians so the Catholics could grow and support his rulership (which actually the opposite happened), and it will be the signal for the ruin of the USA, all Christendom, and the whole world, just as it has been for all who have had "intelligence" with the popes (Dan. 11:30).

That final event will signal the beginning of the final Close of Probation (and possibly the beginning of the Judgment of the Living), for Seventh-day Adventists in the United States first, then for the whole world!

"As America, the land of religious liberty, shall unite with the papacy in forcing the conscience and compelling men to honor the false sabbath, the people of every country on the globe will be led to follow her example." Testimonies to the Church, vol. 6, p. 18

8. Sunday Law & Death Decree = National Apostasy = NATIONAL RUIN

"...a decree will finally be issued against those who hallow the Sabbath of the fourth commandment, denouncing them as deserving of the severest punishment and giving the people liberty, after a certain time, to put them to death. Romanism in the Old World and apostate Protestantism in the New will pursue a similar course toward those who honor all the divine precepts."

The Great Controversy, p. 615.

"When Protestant churches shall unite with the secular power to sustain a false religion, for opposing which their ancestors endured the fiercest persecution, then will the papal sabbath be enforced by the combined authority of church and state. There will be a national apostasy, which will end only in national ruin." Evangelism, p. 235

"Roman Catholic principles will be taken under the care and protection of the state. This national apostasy will speedily be followed by national ruin." RH, June 15, 1897. Last Day Events, p. 134.

"The people of the United States have been a favored people; but when they restrict religious liberty, surrender Protestantism, and give countenance to popery, the measure of their guilt will be full, and "national apostasy" will be registered in the books of heaven. The result of this apostasy will be national ruin." RH May 2, 1893; Last Day Events, p. 133; Maranatha. p. 216

"Our land is in jeopardy. The time is drawing on when its legislators shall so abjure the principles of Protestantism as to give countenance to Romish apostasy. The people for whom God has so marvelously wrought, strengthening them to throw off the galling yoke of popery, will by a national act give vigor to the corrupt faith of Rome, and thus arouse the tyranny which only waits for a touch to start again into cruelty and despotism. With rapid steps are we already approaching this period. When Protestant churches shall seek the support of the secular power, thus following the example of that apostate church, for opposing which their ancestors endured the fiercest persecution, then will there be a national apostasy which will end only in national ruin." Spirit Of Prophecy, vol.4, p. 410

9. 7 Trumpets in Reverse Order Conclusion

Conclusion re. the 7^th Trumpet (the 3^rd Woe):

We can see that during the 7^th Trumpet, the events of the first six Trumpets are repeated in a reverse-order fashion, and the events of the 7 Thunders are also repeated, and also during the repeat of the 7th Thunder, the Seven Last Plagues occur.

We are now playing out the events of the Trumpets in reverse order....apostate empires heading toward eternal ruin! The United States, and the nations of the world, have been helping and capitulating to the pope instead of protesting him. So, does it seem logical to suppose that the Moslem problem we now have in the world could be connected with the "national apostasy = national ruin" principle?

Yes! Our ruin in the USA (and the world) at the hands of Radical Islam, is approaching closer with each restriction of our civil and religions liberties (the adoption of papal principles) by our government, until Congress finally buckles under the "popular demand" for a Sunday Law (GC 592), to get us back into God's favor and protection from those unseen-but-deadly explosive Moslems, who likely will have just hit 20 or more, US cities, at one time, with small, nuclear-tipped cruise missiles, and scared the world witless! (Or maybe they will just blow up all of the gas stations they control in the USA, which is ALL of them, at one time [because they, at some point, suddenly won't have access to their hoarded wealth], which would parallel False Prophet Balaam's Islamic ass crushing his foot against a wall.)

(The prophecy of Ishmael, Islam's "prophetic" father, that confirms his prophetic role in earth's final events, is found in Gen. 16:11-12. "His hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him.")

The United States will eventually, using its current two horns of strength, financial and military force, even to the point of "calling fire down from heaven in the sight of men" (Rev. 13), deceive the whole world into accepting the Pope as the head of the United Nations, thereby making him the de-facto King of the World, the corrector of heretics, and the head of all the churches, thereby fully healing the "deadly wound" and opening the door for Rome to "undo all that Protestantism has done."

"The Protestant churches are in great darkness, or they would discern the signs of the times. The Roman Church is far-reaching in her plans and modes of operation. She is employing every device to extend her influence and increase her power in preparation for a fierce and determined conflict to regain control of the world, to re-establish persecution, and to undo all that Protestantism has done. Catholicism is gaining ground upon every side." GC 566

10. The verse-year parallel

It has also gradually become evident that the events portrayed in Dan. 11:40 are parallel to the events that happened during the year 1840! ...(at the end of the 6^th Trumpet). In both cases there is a fall of a power that ascended out of the "bottomless pit," Turkish Islam in 1840, and atheistic Russian Communism in 1989, the second "King of the South" in Dan. 11:40. (The first "King of the South" in Dan. 11:40 was Napoleon Bonaparte's atheistic France.)

The events portrayed in Dan. 11:41-42, the third and final fall of the United States, the "glorious land," at the National Sunday Law, and the consolidation of Modern Global Babylon as the nations of the world (referred to as "countries" and "Egypt") voluntarily give up their national sovereignty, as proclaimed by the Fourth Angel's "Loud Cry" of Rev. 18 (but some formerly in the pope's "hand" will escape and come out), parallel the events of the Second Angel arriving in 1842 at the first voluntary fall of American Protestantism, when the churches closed their doors to Miller, missed the Sabbath truth, and were left holding to the pope's Sunday, and thereby included themselves in with the "daughters" of Babylon.

The "disappointing" events portrayed in Dan.11:43, as Modern Global Rome consolidates its power over global financial systems, parallel the events of "1843" when, according to the Jewish Karaite calendar that the early Millerites were using (which overlapped 1843 into March of 1844), the Millerites experienced their first or "small" Disappointment.

The events portrayed in Dan. 11:44-45 parallel the "tarrying time," and the 4^th Angel's "other voice" from the "east and the north" that proclaims that three-part, Modern Global Babylon has completely fallen (Rev. 18), and finally parallel the "close of probation" event that happened to the fallen churches on Oct. 22, 1844, only now its world-wide!

The events portrayed in Dan. 11:43-45, Modern Rome's conquering the world with its Sunday Law (then world ruin), parallel the events of the first four Trumpets, namely, Rome's national apostasy in Constantine's Sunday Law (then ruin at the hands of invading armies "out of the East and the North") until three-part, Modern Global Rome shall "come to his end and none to help him."

11. The Second Final Chiasm or "Prophetic Mirror" beginning at the National Sunday Law

Just as the time period from Oct. 22, 1844 to the fall of the USSR in 1989 was one "prophetic mirror" reflecting the first six Trumpets (from the invasion of Alaric in 428AD to the fall of the Ottoman Empire on Aug. 11, 1840), in reverse-order within the time-frame of the Seventh Trumpet, so the time period from Oct. 22, 1844 to the arrival of the Sunday Law in the United States (that being the whole time of the proclamation of the Third Angel's Message), marks the boundaries of the second "prophetic mirror." Once again, beginning from the center and working outward in both directions, we are able to align the seven last, mirrored, or reflected-out, events on planet earth.

1. Door Closes on the Virgins First:

"I am often referred to the parable of the ten virgins, five of whom were wise, and five foolish. This parable has been and will be fulfilled to the very letter, for it has a special application to this time, and, like the third angel's message, has been fulfilled and will continue to be present truth till the close of time."

RH, August 19, 1890

At the end of the prophecy of the 2300 years (also the end of the Second Angel's Message) on Oct. 22, 1844, the "door was shut" on the "virgins" who had rejected the messages of Miller and his associates proclaiming the soon return of Jesus during the 1840's, and from that time onward they could not appreciate any further light from those people on any subject, especially not regarding Jesus beginning His ministration as High Priest in the Most Holy Place of the Heavenly Sanctuary, which came to be referred to as the Investigative Judgment, and of course they could not appreciate the beginning of the Third Angel's Message concerning the Sabbath/Sunday question.

"During the [early] days of the Advent Movement, the first and the second angels' messages were proclaimed with power in Portland, Maine. And after the disappointment, when light shone upon the sanctuary question and the three messages of Revelation fourteen, the third angel's message was preached faithfully in that place and throughout the East." (Sermons And Talks, vol. 2, p.325)

The event that "mirrors" or parallels that "shut door" in 1844 is the Sunday Law in the United States. This event forces Sabbath-keepers in the United States to make an individual decision about their loyalty and fidelity to God and His Law, thereby finally closing their own probation. Their final decisions on this subject mark the close of the Investigative Judgment for each one of them personally. Then Jesus' High Priestly work for them is completed. It is the sign that signals the beginning of the close of probation for the living, the final "shut door."

"When the work of investigation shall be ended, when the cases of those who in all ages have professed to be followers of Christ have been examined and decided, then, and not till then, probation will close, and the door of mercy will be shut. Thus in the one short sentence, "They that were ready went in with Him to the marriage: and the door was shut," we are carried down through the Saviour's final ministration, to the time when the great work for man's salvation shall be completed" (GC 428).

Rev. 13:11 "And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon."

Dan. 11:41 "He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many [countries] shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, [even] Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon."

2. The Final Cry of Warning:

Before probation closed on the virgins in 1844 they received a final, rousing warning message, the Midnight Cry, which joined the Second Angel's message. This parallels the Loud Cry that joins the Fourth Angel of Rev. 18, the final, rousing, warning message for planet earth.

"At the call, ‘The Bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet Him,' the waiting ones ‘arose and trimmed their lamps;' they studied the word of God with an intensity of interest before unknown. Angels were sent from heaven to arouse those who had become discouraged and prepare them to receive the message....In the providence of God this proclamation united with the second angel's message and gave power to that work." (GC 402)

"Angels were sent to aid the mighty [4^th] angel from heaven, and I heard voices which seemed to sound everywhere, "Come out of her, My people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities." This [Loud Cry] message seemed to be an addition to the third message, joining it as the midnight cry joined the second angel's message in 1844." (EW277)

3. Probation Closes Outside of Adventism:

"In June, 1842, Mr. Miller gave his second course of lectures in Portland....With few exceptions the different denominations closed the doors of their churches against Mr. Miller." (1T 21)

"And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation [even] to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book." Dan. 12:1

"He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still." Rev. 22:11

4. The Hour of God's Judgment:

Before probation closed, the First Angel proclaimed the hour of God's "Investigative" judgment. At the end it will be the proclamation of the hour of God's "Executive" judgment, when the judgment previously pronounced is carried into effect and executed in the Seven Last Plagues.

"The prophecy of the first angel's message, brought to view in Revelation 14, found its fulfillment in the advent movement of 1840-44." (Story of Redemption, p.356)

"And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled... And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth." Rev. 15:8, 16:1

5. Babylon Falls:

Before the beginning of the First Angels' Message in the Advent Movement, Babylon fell in 1798 at the papacy's "deadly wound." Babylon's final fall will be during the sixth of the Seven Last Plagues.

"The 1260 years of papal supremacy began in A.D. 538, and would therefore terminate in 1798. At that time a French army entered Rome and made the pope a prisoner, and he died in exile." (GC 266)

"And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared....And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird....Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong [is] the Lord God who judgeth her." Rev. 16:12, 18:2, 8

6. Anarchy:

Before France took the Pope captive in 1798 it endured the French Revolution and Reign of Terror, and after Babylon falls from the world's favor the population of the world will begin to self-destruct in the anarchy of Armageddon.

"And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon." Rev. 16:16

"It was in 1793 that the decrees which abolished the Christian religion and set aside the Bible passed the French Assembly. Three years and a half later a resolution rescinding these decrees, thus granting toleration to the Scriptures, was adopted by the same body." (GC287)

"Would we know the result of making void the law of God? The experiment has been tried. Terrible were the scenes enacted in France when atheism became the controlling power. It was then demonstrated to the world that to throw off the restraints which God has imposed is to accept the rule of the cruelest of tyrants. When the standard of righteousness is set aside, the way is open for the prince of evil to establish his power in the earth." {GC 584)

"At the same time anarchy is seeking to sweep away all law, not only divine, but human. The centralizing of wealth and power; the vast combinations for the enriching of the few at the expense of the many; the combinations of the poorer classes for the defense of their interests and claims; the spirit of unrest, of riot and bloodshed; the world-wide dissemination of the same teachings that led to the French Revolution--all are tending to involve the whole world in a struggle similar to that which convulsed France." (Education, p. 228)

7. Earthquake:

Before the spiritual earthquake of the French Revolution in 1798 (Rev. 11:11) there was a literal earthquake in 1755 to mark the beginning of this prophetic chiasm, and at its end the earth will heave its final great convulsion of death.

"These signs were witnessed before the opening of the nineteenth century. In fulfillment of this prophecy there occurred, in the year 1755, the most terrible earthquake that has ever been recorded. Though commonly known as the earthquake of Lisbon, it extended to the greater part of Europe, Africa, and America." (GC 304)

"And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done....And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, [and] so great." Rev. 16:17, 18
